2 Chronicles 2:5-6

Based on 2 Chronicles 2:5-6, this carving illustrates the declaration by King Solomon of Israel to the King of Tyre, on the occasion of the gathering of materials and the enlistment of workers to build the temple in Jerusalem.
Solomon wrote to the King of Tyre to request building materials, especially lumber from the cedars of that region, and the skilled workers to work the lumber for the temple construction. In making the request, Solomon is actually making a declaration of faith in the one true God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and making this declaration to a pagan, idol worshipping King.
