Northern White Birch Finish: Sanding sealer basecoat, hardwood wax topcoat. This carving was commissioned as the subject for a photograph that will be printed on a prayer card to St. Joseph, who is the patron saint of workers. This prayer card will be printed, along with the traditional prayer to St. Joseph, for distribution to US soldier overseas. St. Joseph's motto, "Semper Fidelis" means "Always Faithful" and is used by the US Marines in the form of "Semper Fi". |
